Racing Towards a Cure
I’m proud to be participating in the Les Turner ALS Foundation’s Strike Out ALS 5k again this year and hope you will join me.
As you may know, this is a cause close to my heart. I lost a close friend, Justin Dodson to ALS in 2019. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him and wish there would have been better treatments or a way to slow or stop the disease. He battled for 3 years, each day was a new struggle for him and his loved ones. He was never bitter or angry about his situation and stayed positive and hopeful at every turn, fearlessly facing the unknown. He will always be my hero.
During his illness, Justin found a purpose working with the Les Turner ALS Foundation, supporting their mission by spreading awareness within his community of veterans, speaking at events around the country and offering support to others suffering with ALS.
Les Turner ALS Foundation helps to provide comprehensive care to people living with ALS and their families in Chicagoland and I hope that all of our contributions will lead to treatments and a cure for ALS.
ALS is scary. Really scary. Its rapid progression can mean tomorrow is often worse than today. As a result, people living with ALS are overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. The Foundation is here to care for those affected by the disease, answer their questions and support them and their loved ones every step of their journey.
I’m proud to be a member of the Les Turner ALS Foundation family. Join me as we work to support people living with ALS and those who love them every step of the way! Please consider making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal. Together, we can make an impact in the fight against ALS.
