Megan's Fundraising for Les Turner Chicago Marathon 2019

I am participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as part of Team Race for ALS because I believe in the mission of the Les Turner ALS Foundation. I believe in providing the best possible care to people living with ALS and their families in the Chicagoland area and I believe that the funds we raise together will lead to a cure for ALS. This cause is important to me and I'd greatly appreciate your support of my efforts.
In the US, every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS and someone dies of ALS (that's 112 people each week). There is no known cure for ALS and, once diagnosed, patients typically live only three to five years. These are alarming fact about ALS, but we can help change the course of the disease and ensure that progress is made towards finding life-enhancing treatments and a cure.
Despite the steep obstacles that receiving an ALS diagnosis poses, help and hope are within reach. Founded in 1977, the Les Turner ALS Foundation is the leader in comprehensive ALS care in Chicagoland. Although they're one of the largest independent ALS groups in the country, they treat each person like family and are committed to supporting them every step of the way. Their individualized approach ensures each person living with the disease receives the best quality of care and their local community of support provides their loved ones with answers and encouragement.
This October I will be running the Chicago marathon to raise money for the Les Turner ALS Foundation to help people diagnosed with ALS and their families receive the care they need, as well as increase the funding for research to help find answers to stop this progressive disease. Please consider donating to this foundation so that everyone impacted by this disease can receive the care and support they need, and the research to find a cure.
Please consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal. Together, we can make an impact and create a world free of ALS.
