Martha's fundraising for ALS Foundation - Chicago Marathon 2019
I signed up to run the Chicago Marathon in October 13, 2019! I am running as part of Team Race for ALS because I believe in the mission of the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
In 2009, Eric, the husband of my amazing friend Ninfa was diagnosed with ALS and after a grueling battle; he passed, but not before putting up a heroic fight himself. This disease has taken someone she loves and has left her and her two boys scarred for life, still, despite the heart ache, and trials they have had to endure Ninfa continues to support the foundation that helped her during those difficult times.
The level of admiration and praise I feel for her and people like her is immeasurable! It is because of this; I support her and all of those fighting ALS. Whether it be someone who carries the disease and fighting to stay alive, or someone whose family member has fought the good fight, and they continue the war against ALS in their honor.
I am inspired each day by Ninfa and the armor she puts on as she prepares to wage war on this thing over and over again. This is my way of joining her fight and becoming yet another soldier in my friend’s “No Quitters for Q” battalion.
Please consider making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal. Together, we can make an impact and create a world free of ALS.
