Storm Troopers for Wendell
Dear Family & Friends,
Thanks for checking out our Team page!
UPDATE: Thanks to all who ordered t-shirts. We're going to look great as a team as we walk for Wendell. (the price of the shirts covered the cost and was not a fundraiser.) Can't wait to see you all!
We are walking in the Les Turner Foundation ALS Walk for Life on September 16, 2017 to show our love and support for our family member and friend, Wendell Meyer. (Plus, Wendell wants to see how many of his family and friends can actually make it through the walk in one piece and without whining)
The ALS Walk for Life is one of the world's largest gatherings of ALS patients, families and friends. Now in its 16th year, the Walk has raised over $12 million in support of Chicago's independent leader in ALS, the Les Turner ALS Foundation.
As many of you know, Wendell was diagnosed with ALS in December 2016. Since that time, the Les Turner Foundation has been a tremendous help to Wendell & Theresa. The foundation supports the clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hospital where Wendell receives his care. They have provided a nurse and social worker that come to the house regularly and help them to walk through the journey with this disease. The monthly support group that they run has been such a source of education and understanding! All of this is free of charge to us and we would love to “pay it forward” to those facing the disease in the future, by continuing to raise support for the Les Turner Foundation.

If you would like to purchase a Storm Trooper T-shirt, email Susan Slagle at email@example.com and let her know how many and sizes. The cost will depend on how many are ordered, but they will not be more than $17, and hopefully quite a bit less. The price will only be to cover the cost of the t-shirt. If you live near us we will deliver the t-shirt to you ahead of time. Otherwise, they will be handed out the day of the walk. (Susan is Theresa's sister and has proven to be trustworthy.)
Join us as we Walk to end ALS -more updates to come.
