Nell's Chicago Marathon Fundraising Page for ALS!
As many of you may know, I have been involved in raising awareness and funds for ALS for the greater part of my life. My uncle Chuck Bannon passed away from ALS, an incurable degenerative disease that results in total paralysis, in 2009 at the age of 44. Since then, my family has been involved in raising funds for ALS each year.
As a kid, I sold muffins at the local train station in NJ every year to donate to ALS research. I participated in the Tri-State Trek every summer as a volunteer, and then decided to start a club in high school to raise more funds. Last year, I rode the Tri-State Trek for the first time, riding 130 miles on my bike in 2 days, alongside my mom who has ridden the Trek 15 times. I completed the Trek again this past June. On October 13, 2024 I will be running the Chicago Marathon as part of the Les Turner ALS Foundation's charity team!
The Les Turner ALS Foundation is here to care for those affected by the disease, answer their questions and support them and their loved ones every step of their journey.
This is a great opportunity to honor and support those still suffering with ALS. If you'd like to sponsor me, any donations are greatly appreciated :) thank you!!
