Team Mo' Better
Hello Friends and Family:
Team Mo Better is back this year to raise money for the Les Turner ALS Foundation. I hope that you will make plans to join us for the Les Turner ALS Walk for Life on Saturday, September 14, 2024. For those of you that might be new to the ALS Walk for Life, Team Mo Better walks in memory of my sister, Michelle Crockett. Michelle lost her battle against ALS in 2017. I often think of Michelle and her mantra, "I have ALS, ALS does not have me." I remember her spirit and her steadfast determination to live her life with dignity and grace.
Since Team Mo Better’s first walk in 2016, the Foundation has made strides in research and continues to provide vital services to thousands of patients and family members currently living with ALS (PALS).
The money raised through the Walk funds the Foundation’s Home and Community Service and grant programs. It also supports the Les Turner ALS Research and Patient Center at Northwestern Medicine where PALS are seen by a multi-disciplinary clinical staff at the Lois Insolia ALS Clinic, ensuring no part of their disease goes unseen and untreated. The Center also supports three full functioning research laboratories, each one providing hope of a future without ALS. As a Les Turner ALS Foundation board member, I have experienced firsthand the lives changed by the work of the Foundation.
We hope those of you who were inspired by Michelle’s amazing spirit will help us celebrate her memory and continue her belief that one day, we will find a cure for ALS.
Your Team Captain
Deborah Crockett
