I am participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as part of Team Race for ALS because I work in the Les Turner Clinic at Northwestern Memorial Hosptial. The support that Les Turner provides to my patients whether if be support groups, home visit, equipment etc is incredible. I will share just one of the HUNDREDS or stories my patients have shared with my about how Les Turner has supported them. 

One of my patients was getting a power wheelchair, insurance does not cover a feature that allows patients to actually stand up in their wheelchairs, so one of the Les Turner reps suggested that she apply for a grant for it through Les Turner. She got the grant and now is able to stand up every morning in her wheelchair to kiss and hug her husband, is able to stand for family photos and not be the "odd one out" and is also able to stand up for music in church. Again, this is JUST ONE STORY. There are so many more.
