Let's Find the Cure Together!
For my third Chicago marathon, I have decided to run with a charity for a multitude of reasons. My aunt Peggy has ran 22 Chicago marathons, and every year she raised money for a charity. In 2021, she was diagnosed with ALS. Today, she is still fighting ALS and requires around the clock care as she can no longer walk or speak. This is the reality for many who are diagnosed with ALS, as it tends to be a fast progressing condition. My third Chicago marathon is dedicated to her, as well as all those currently fighting and who we have lost to ALS. I ask you to please donate to help provide care for those currently battling ALS and to help fund research so we can further understand this life threatening condition.
The lifetime risk of developing ALS is just 1 in 300 and there is no known cure. Once diagnosed, patients typically live only three to five years. Together, we can help change the course of the disease and ensure that progress is made towards finding life-enhancing treatments and a cure.
The Les Turner ALS Foundation is here to care for those affected by the disease, answer their questions and support them and their loved ones every step of their journey.
I am participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as part of Team Race for ALS because I believe in the mission of the Les Turner ALS Foundation! I believe in providing the best possible care to people living with ALS and their families in the Chicagoland area and I believe that the funds we raise together will lead to a cure for ALS. This cause is important to me and I’d greatly appreciate your support of my efforts.
Please consider making a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal. Together, we can make an impact and create a world free of ALS.
