Race day packet pick-up and registration will begin at 7am. To avoid long lines for check-in on event day, we recommend picking up your packet in advance, which includes your bib number, T-shirt and eye black. Advanced packet pick-up will be available on the day and location listed below:

Metered street parking is available on both Wells Street and North Avenue. There is also on-street parking in the neighborhood. The store is accessible from the Sedgwick stop on the CTA Brown Line.

What happens if it rains?
We run rain or shine, so be prepared for all inclement weather. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, blankets, jackets, ponchos, umbrellas, etc.
Is there a registration fee to participate and/or a fundraising minimum?
$35 registration fee until May 14, 2019*
$50 registration fee on July 13, 2019 (race day)
1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll Registration:
$20 registration fee until May 14, 2019*

Can I pick up my race packet day-of?
Yes! You can pick your packet up starting at 7am in Lot B at Guaranteed Rate Field. If you are already registered, head to the Pre-Registration tent to pick up your Race Bib Number, T-Shirt and eye black.
Can I bring friends and family with me day-of?
Yes! We invite you to bring anyone with you to cheer you on. Friends and family are welcome to go along the course or wait by the start/finish line and can also join the after-party at the Chi-Sox Bar & Grill. No one can join the race or enter the stadium however, unless they are registered and have a Race Bib Number.
Is this event family-friendly?
YES! There is a 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll portion for kids and families. The after-party at ChiSox Bar & Grill has food and drink specials with a kids menu. Other Race day activities include:
- Vendor Village with booths from 670 The Score, Univision, Fleet Feet, Sparkling Ice and more!
- Appearance by Northwestern Football Team players and mascot Willie the Wildcat
- Complimentary refreshments
- Team photo opportunities
- Music and fun for the whole family
- Awards for the top three male, female and under the age of 15 finishers will be presented post-race at ChiSox Bar & Grill
- MLB All-Star Game viewing during the after-party
What are the dog rules and restrictions?
For the safety and comfort of people living with ALS, many of whom cannot move away from a lively pet, we ask you to leave your dogs at home. Only certified guide dogs are allowed inside Guaranteed Rate Field and all guide dogs must be leashed and under their owners control at all times, no exceptions.
When do you begin and stop collecting donations for the Strike Out ALS 5k and 1 Mile?
We begin collecting donations as soon as the registration page is open and will keep our books open until December 31. We encourage you to turn in your money as early as possible but will accept donations on Race day and after.

Checks should be made payable to the Les Turner ALS Foundation and remember to indicate your team name and the person that should be credited somewhere on the envelope or check. All offline gifts will be uploaded to your fundraising page (unless otherwise noted) and reflected in your fundraising total.
Can I turn in donatoins or make anadditional gift at the event?
Yes, we will accept donations on Race day and after until the end of the calendar year.
How do I receive an official Strike Out ALS 5k and 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll t-shirt and eye black?
All pre-event registered participants will receive a T-shirt and eye black. Event day registrants are at a first come first serve basis. T-shirts and eye black can be picked up at packet pick-up or on race day.
Is the event wheelchair friendly?
Of course! Accessibility around the venue and along the route is critical and our top priority.
Can my child participate in the race?
Participants 5 years old or younger are welcome to join the race and are free with a registered adult. Children over the age of 5 years old need to register for the 5k run (timed) or 1 mile walk to receive a t-shirt and bib to access the course.
Are strollers or baby joggers allowed?
The race is family-friendly and the course can accommodate strollers/joggers. We ask that you start toward the back so as not to impede other participants. For safety reasons, please stay to the right while on the course so faster runners can safely pass.
Do runners get any awards?
The top three finishers in the Male, Female and Under 15 division will all get finisher medals and recognition at the after-party.
Are there any incentives for fundraising?
All proceeds will benefit the Les Turner ALS Foundation, which provides support to the vast majority of people living with ALS in the Chicagoland area. Your participation and fundraising efforts for the Strike Out ALS 5k and 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll will help fund patient service programs, crucial ALS research at Northwestern Medicine and provide hope for a future without ALS. Participants who raise over $100 will also receive additional fundraising perks!
LOCATION AND PARKING INFORMATION
Guaranteed Rate Field is located at 333 W 35th St. Chicago, IL 60616.
The stadium can be accessed by CTA's Red Line and Green Line, a Metra/Rock Island stop and a number of bus routes. For more information, visit the Chicago White Sox website.
All parking will be located in Lot A. This includes all volunteers, participants, buses, cars, etc. *Parking is free.
*Please take into account road closures on event day due to the race route and follow signage to reach the parking lot.
Handicap parking spots will be reserved for people living with ALS in Parking Lot B. This is the same lot registration and activities take place. Please contact the Foundation Office at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a parking spot.
